Halo View is now official, Amazon’s second fitness bracelet continues to bet on a subscription platform where the device itself is only a small part of the experience, focused on health, sports and nutrition.
The main novelty of Halo View is that it now includes an AMOLED touch screen , the first model dispensed with the screen so as not to distract the user. In it we can see information about our physical condition, and also about training.
The Halo View measures the pulse continuously, the level of oxygen in blood (SpO2) , the night rest and the sport carried out. The battery has an estimated duration of one week of autonomy on one charge and is suitable for swimming (resistance of 5 ATM under water).
The bracelet can be used in a limited way without a subscription, but it is designed as an accessory to the Amazon Halo service, focused on health.
At the end of 2021, the new Halo Fitness will be added to this subscription, with video training sessions , which have also been integrated into the monitoring functions of the bracelet.
In early 2022 we will also see Halo Nutrition, a meal planning service , with hundreds of recipes to choose from, and pre-designed weekly menus. Plus, Halo Nutrition integrates with your Alexa shopping list, just like Amazon Echo smart speakers and displays.
The functions of the original Amazon Halo are maintained, such as measuring our body fat percentage by taking a photo from the app or calculating the stress level by recording the user’s voice.
The price of the Halo View will be $ 79.99 in the United States, including a one-year subscription to the Halo service. Then we will be charged $ 3.99 per month for the subscription, unless we unsubscribe before the end of the first year.
Amazon will sell the Halo View in two wrist sizes and three colors to choose from (black, purple and green), as well as additional straps made of various materials.
The Amazon Halo View proposal enters the segment of the most premium fitness bracelets , by requiring a monthly payment, perhaps that is why it still does not have a launch date for Spain or the rest of Europe.
