WhatsApp is aware that rectifying is wise. Therefore, it is working to implement an option that allows you to edit sent messages . This is what we know so far.
We all get confused at some point in our lives, and this is corroborated by the new functionality that WhatsApp is developing. Although it does not yet have an official release date, we will have to be aware of the beta version for iOS, Android and Desktop to test it.

The “Delete for me” option is very useful if we send a message without WiFi connection or mobile data and we want to delete it, since the message will not reach the recipient. But sometimes there’s no turning back now and you hit “Delete for all”, a lifeline that took too long to arrive.
However, we do not necessarily delete messages because we have said something crazy or we have made the wrong chat. On many occasions, we delete messages because we do not contemplate another possibility , such as editing the text.
And this is the great advantage that we will have when WhatsApp launches the new function to edit text messages: more rectification options . Another point in favor is that this mode does not leave a “trace” in the chat, as happens when you click on “Delete for all”.
And there probably isn’t an editing history where you can check previous versions of the message either, although we’ll have to wait for this new tool to finish developing.
The screenshot is taken from WhatsApp beta for Android , but the feature will roll out in the same way to iOS beta and Desktop when it’s ready. Just as it will also do it in the three operating systems when its launch becomes official for everyone.
One of the most relevant details for users, and that is yet to be determined, is the time that the editing window will be available . 60 minutes? Unlimited? There is no news yet, but we will update as soon as we know anything new.
What we do know is that it will be very useful to add a paragraph in that long birthday greeting that you do not want to delete or to correct a typo in the message you have sent to your boss. Or, simply, when you have confused the crying emoticon for the one that is laughing with happiness.
Other novelties that WhatsApp intends to include soon are group surveys and a Premium version of the messaging application. In addition, the possibility of including a cover photo in the WhatsApp profile is just around the corner, as is the case on Twitter.
