Twitter will give you a smoke bomb to escape toxic conversations

Twitter te dejara hacer bomba de humo en las conversaciones toxicas

Many people use Twitter as their personal diary, with all the bad things that this implies. It is true that some tweets give rise to very interesting threads, but for each of those there are others that are a nest of toxicity. And sometimes one inadvertently gets involved in these toxic Twitter conversations from which it is difficult to come out unscathed. Luckily, Twitter is already working on a new option that will let you quickly exit conversations in a matter of seconds.

According to reputable leaker Jane Manchun Wong , the social network will launch a tool with which you can stop receiving notifications and mentions in conversations that you no longer want to be in . In other words, it will be possible to completely block your presence in the tweets you want. Practically, it will be like setting up a smoke bomb and escaping without the other users being able to do anything.

The option “Leave this conversation” will come to Twitter to flee from toxicity

twitter permitira huir de las conversaciones toxicas

Wong’s leaked image reveals how Twitter will let you escape toxic conversations. By simply pressing the Leave this conversation button, the platform will do the following:

  • Will prevent your username from being tagged : You won’t be able to be tagged in the original tweet and all replies to it. Of course, your username can be tagged in any other tweet outside the one that generated the toxic conversation.
  • It will block the mentions towards you : nobody will be able to mention you in the toxic conversation, since you will not appear available for it.
  • It will also block notifications from the toxic conversation – so you won’t find out what is still being talked about in that conversation. However, this will not prevent you from viewing the conversation whenever you want.

But the most interesting thing about this new option is that Twitter will not notify anyone that you have left the conversation . You will be able to escape like a ninja without being detected by any user. At the time of this writing, the feature is not yet available, but it may be released in the next few months in beta.

By the way, if you want to avoid showing toxic conversations on your home page, remember that Twitter launched the dislike with a trap so that you can influence the platform’s algorithm.
