Although in the Iberian market Motorola points more towards the medium and low ranges, the company continues to grow at a very good pace in other latitudes. For example, in the United States it is already the third manufacturer that sells the most, a position that it has been earning by hand with its latest mobiles.
We recently learned that the Moto Razr 3 could be the first foldable with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and now one of the firm’s next releases is completely leaked. We are talking about the Moto Edge 2022, Motorola’s next upper-middle-range mobile that was almost completely leaked when its launch is still months away.
The Moto Edge 2022 will have a 144 Hz screen and will release a MediaTek chip
Thanks to a leak from 91Mobiles and OnLeaks , we already know what one of Motorola’s next launches will look like. We are talking about the Moto Edge 2022, whose code name is Motorola Dubai + and will be presented sometime in Q3 2022. This smartphone will target the upper-middle range of the market and if it arrives at a good price it could give a lot of fabric , because its specifications they are very good:
- 6.5-inch POLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate.
- MediaTek Dimensity MT6879 8-core processor (not yet released).
- 6 / 8 GB of RAM and 128 / 256 GB of internal storage.
- Triple rear camera with 50 MP + 13 MP + 2 MP sensors.
- Front camera for selfies of 32 MP.
- 5000mAh battery.
- android 12 .
As you can see from the list above, a 144Hz POLED display is no slouch.

With that alone we could think of a high-end smartphone, but the configuration of 6 or 8 GB of RAM would collapse the argument. We also don’t know much about the new chip that this phone will carry, but MediaTek hasn’t stopped surprising us lately. Taking both things into account, we will surely be facing a mid-high range device, but very efficient .
Continuous design and scary cameras
Looking at the leaked images, it is clear that Motorola will not take too much risk with the design of the new Moto Edge 2022. In fact, it will look quite similar to Moto Edge 30, from which it draws both in design and some of its specifications.
The Moto Edge 2022 will have a unicolor back that appears to be glass, but we will have to wait to confirm it. It is also rumored that it will be stylus compatible . On the front, it will have relatively small edges, as well as a hole near the top frame to locate the front camera.
And speaking of cameras, those of the Moto Edge 2022 are very attractive. That main 50MP sensor is most likely Sony’s IMX766 , which is excellent, has become very popular, and has OIS. The second sensor will surely be an ultra wide angle, while the last one would be a macro or monochrome sensor. On the front camera, 32 MP is an excellent resolution, which we hope has a consistent image quality.
The new Moto Edge 2022 still does not have a launch price, nor does it have a specific date within Q3 of 2022. Even so, we will keep an eye on it, because it could be a fantastic mobile if its price does not exceed €350 in its base version.
