The Xiaomi 14 will carry the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and promises to be a great leap in power
As you can see for yourself, images of the box in which the Xiaomi 14 will come have been leaked. A screenshot of the mobile specifications in MIUI has also been leaked and we can see that it will have the following features:
- A Qualcomm processor clocked at up to 3.2 GHz (most likely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2).
- 12GB of RAM.
- Android 13 with MIUI 14 and the October 2022 security patch.
- Model number 2211133C , which is the same as in previous leaks associated with the Xiaomi 13.
Obviously, Xiaomi has not confirmed that these images are real, so we cannot trust them 100% . However, there is a high probability that they are.
Why would Xiaomi skip the Xiaomi 13 series?
There are two reasons why Xiaomi might skip number 13 on its next flagship. The first is that in many countries “13” is considered a bad omen . Therefore, some people might avoid buying a mobile with this number to keep bad luck away. The second possible reason has more to do with marketing than with a social element.

Thus, by skipping the number 13, Xiaomi makes the users’ subconscious understand that the Xiaomi 14 is much better than the Xiaomi 12.
Honestly, and seeing how Chinese brands are managed, we would not be surprised if the real reason is the first. Either way, the possibility of the company’s next flagship being called Xiaomi 13 is still on the table . So we can only wait for its official launch, at the end of this year or at the beginning of the next, to confirm or deny this news.
