We already know all the details of the Xiaomi Watch S1 and S1 Active , the new smart watches from the Chinese manufacturer. Two very similar smartwatches technically, whose main differences are in the dress finishes of the Watch S1 compared to the sporty design of the Watch S1 Active.
Both mount a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen , with high sharpness (326 dots per inch) and 450 nits brightness, which guarantees readability outdoors. Here we find the first difference, because the standard Watch S1 has sapphire glass protecting the dial.
The finishes are also different: the Watch S1 Active uses metal with rubber straps, while the classic model uses 316L class stainless steel and leather straps, plus another rubber one comes in the box. On a physical level, there is no lack of 5 ATM water resistance , which makes the watches suitable for swimming.
The sensors of the two smartwatches include a heart rate monitor and a SpO2 blood oxygen sensor that work 24 hours a day. In addition, they support dual band geolocation , with compatibility for GPS, Galileo, Glonass, BDS and QZSS.
The Xiaomi Watch S1 and S1 Active allow you to monitor steps, calories, sleep, stress and up to 117 sports modalities . Of these, 19 sports have the professional mode that automatically detects when the exercise begins.
Extras include NFC payments with Mastercard cards (in some countries) and compatibility with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant . There is no lack of other usual functions of smart watches, such as mobile notifications or the possibility of answering calls.
The interior of the smartwatches houses a 470 mAh battery , which according to the brand lasts for 12 days of standard use or 24 days in battery saving mode. The Xiaomi Watch S1 has wireless charging, while the Watch S1 must make do with a magnetic charger.
The Xiaomi Watch S1 and S1 Active are compatible with Android and iOS through the Xiaomi Wear app, unfortunately it is not Mi Fit, which is much more complete. We will see if the future My Fitness ends up being in charge of centralizing the manufacturer’s wearables.
