ViX and ViX+ are the two great initiatives of TelevisaUnivision , the Mexican media company. These are two streaming content platforms , one of them in a free version (ViX) and the other paid (ViX+).
Both will contain a wide variety of genres , as well as access to an extensive video library of content and franchises from the Televisa video library. They will be launched in the United States, Mexico and most Latin American countries , and their priority is clear: to be the first option to consume content in Spanish .
Surely you are wondering where you can find them. Well, in addition to being able to view its content on the vix.com website itself , the application is available in the Apple Store (iOS), Google Play (Android) and is compatible with streaming devices such as Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku and Chromecast .
ViX, the free version
ViX will be released on March 31 and will have a similar format to Pluto TV: no registration or subscription required . It will offer more than 50,000 hours of free content spread over its more than 100 channels and, in exchange, users will have to put up with some batches of ads (AVOD) .
Among the channels offered are news, soap operas, entertainment, children’s and sports themes. At the moment, these are the confirmed channels that are most interesting:
- Canal Derbez : will offer humorous content, movies and new content from Eugenio Derbez, the Mexican comedian, actor and producer.
- Noticias Univision 24/7 : As its name suggests, it will offer news 24 hours a day, every day of the week.
- TUDN Zone : will only broadcast sports content, including live matches and exclusive programs. It will also televise 30 matches of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
- Movie channels : Hollywood Movies, Boom Movies, Drama Movies, Romance Movies, My Time Movie Network, Love Popcorn, Our Movies, Comedy Movies, Box Office MX, Love Movies, Gold Movies, Family Movies.
- Kids Zone : Moonbug Kids.
In the movie section, they will also have alliances with international production companies of the caliber of Disney +, Lionsgate or MGM . They will offer some of their productions, all of them dubbed in Spanish . In addition, in the soap opera section, they have agreements with Colombian and Turkish production companies to expand their catalog.
ViX+, the paid service
On the other hand, we find ViX+, the paid streaming service (SVOD) that will be launched from the second half of 2022 . The price of this subscription is not yet known, but they have assured that it will be very competitive.
In addition, it will start with 10,000 hours of content in Spanish, more than 3,000 soccer games a year -including 10 exclusive matches from the World Cup and some leagues in Latin America- and more than 50 original productions.
