The Xiaomi Smart Band 7 is one of the most complete activity bracelets on the market. It is something that applies both in its standard version and in the new Xiaomi Band 7 Pro, but it has just run out of functionality.
According to the manufacturer itself, the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 will no longer have a camera shutter , one of its coolest features. What is this decision about? Why is Xiaomi removing features instead of adding new ones?
Xiaomi removes the camera shutter from its Smart Band 7 because “it is not used”
During the last few days, many users have reported through forums and social networks that their Xiaomi Smart Band 7 no longer has a camera shutter. It is an issue that only affects Android mobile users , as iPhone users can still use this feature.
Given the discontent and doubt of the users, Xiaomi decided to intervene and comment on what is happening, the news is not good. According to the manufacturer itself, it was their decision to remove this functionality from Android and it is not something that will return soon . These were their statements when asked about such a measure:
“After analyzing the most used functionalities in our devices, we are making changes according to the pattern of use of consumers, we also monitor the most searched and commented words in the forums. We have detected that “remote shutter” has hardly any use in our equipment so we have preferred to do without it”.
For some, removing the remote shutter from the Xiaomi Band 7 may not be a problem, but there are users who do take advantage of this functionality . Besides, if it’s a feature that’s been there from day one, why remove it? A device is supposed to get better over time and this is a clear step backwards. Will they take advantage of the free space for something else? There our position could be more flexible, but right off the bat we disagree with this decision by Xiaomi, because it deteriorates its product.
What will happen to future versions of the Xiaomi Smart Band? We do not know if the remote camera shutter will be integrated again , but the thing is that it will not be. What do we expect? That Xiaomi reconsider in this regard, because there are users who take advantage of this functionality a lot, although they are not a majority.
