Thanks to a report from WinFuture , we already know the first data of what could be the future Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. The German media affirms that it is about these mobiles for a couple of reasons: the first is that they are two devices, so it would not be the Pixel 7a that should be presented in a few months ; the second is its specifications, which point to high-end smartphones.

The leak claims that the eighth-generation Google Pixels are codenamed Shiba (Pixel 8) and Husky (Pixel 8 Pro). Also, its SoC would be based on a custom edition of the Samsung Exynos 2300 , codenamed “Zuma”. Although, beware, it seems that it will carry the same 5G G5300 modem as the Tensor G2.

This would not surprise us at all, since the design of the Tensor G1 and G2 started from Exynos chips and were manufactured by Samsung Foundry. And yes, the Exynos 2300 may sound curious, as it has been said many times that Samsung stopped working on it. However, the latest round of rumors claims that this is not the case and that the Galaxy S23 for India could end up carrying this chip.

Returning to the Google Pixel 8, WinFuture sources assure that both devices will have 12 GB of RAM , like the Pixel 7 Pro. Meanwhile, the resolutions will be the following:

  • Google Pixel 8 : Full HD + 2268 x 1080 pixels.
  • Google Pixel 8 Pro : QHD+ 2822 x 1344 pixels.

If this is true, we would be talking about a lower screen resolution than the current generation. By the way, the Pixel 8 Pro could have a new ultrasonic fingerprint sensor . If so, this would solve one of the problems of the Pixel 7: its sensor is the slowest of the entire high range.
