Very soon it will be possible to share an NFT on Instagram , uploading that image, animation or video as a post on the social network’s timeline . Only the owner or creator will be able to upload an item identifying it as NFT, thus allowing you to gain public recognition on Instagram.
We have already explained what an NFT is, a collectible item that is usually an image , but can take the form of another media item. Thanks to a blockchain network, a single owner is assigned, which has led to specific collections such as Bored Ape Yacht Club or CryptoPunks reaching astronomical prices.

NFTs can be shared on Instagram, but they cannot be bought or sold , for now it is not proposed as an exchange platform (marketplace) in the style of Solsea or OpenSea. Therefore, using NFTs on Instagram is 100% free , there are no commissions or other costs.
When an NFT is uploaded it will be identified as such , including a special glow on that post. It also gives us the option to tag the creator and current owner of that item, and indicate the blockchain it came from.
One of the future plans is to offer augmented reality stickers on NFT for Stories , but the date has not yet been finalized.

Instagram have integrated several blockchain networks , online databases where the property of each element is stored. They are not all, but the most popular ones are, so we should not miss options.

Initially, the NFTs start as a private test for some accounts in the United States , chosen by Instagram. Later they will be extended to other users, although the date and the next steps they will take have not been specified.
