Little by little, the miDGT application is getting closer to what an efficient online public administration should be, and now it allows you to pay fines in the app itself . Unfortunately, fines are one of the procedures that citizens must frequently carry out with the DGT in Spain, which is simplified in this way.
Since 2019 it is possible to carry the driving license on the mobile with the same validity as the physical document through miDGT, as well as the car papers (such as the registration certificate or basic insurance data). The General Directorate of Traffic or DGT has announced in January 2022 that it updates the app with useful news.
First is the possibility of downloading the “sanction proposals” (fines) and paying by card , as well as other DGT fees, although we see complaints on social networks that there are Spanish banks that are incompatible with Internet payment.
In addition, miDGT also allows us to download the supporting documents of the previous appointments that we request to be attended in Traffic.
With this update, you can check the result of the driving test in miDGT (something that could already be done online), and the options for logging in have been expanded. To use the miDGT app, available for free on Android and iOS , the most comfortable way is to use the Cl@ve system. It is worth going a step further, because with the digital certificate more procedures can be carried out in other public entities, be it the Treasury, Social Security and regional and municipal bodies.
Unfortunately, other administrations are going at a slower pace, and the European DNI 4.0 format cannot be carried on the mobile at the moment, despite the fact that it promised to be one of its great novelties.
Of course, nobody likes to pay fines, but at least doing it from the mobile is easier . The miDGT application works well, it has many functionalities and allows us to carry the card and all the documentation on the smartphone, without the need for physical documents.
