Cameos closes and joins the graveyard of Google apps that were canceled

All people who have recorded videos in Cameos are receiving a message confirming the closure of the app. The notice highlights that the service will no longer be available as of February 17 . In turn, the contents will no longer appear in Google Discover or in the search results of the big G.
The dynamic in Cameos was focused on celebrities (which gave it a “premium” feel, like that of the most exclusive dating apps).
Influencers received the most Googled questions about them. The famous answered the question in a short video . The content was then uploaded to the influencer’s main SERP on Google. This was how Google was looking to combine Cameos with Chrome.
The problem with the service is that only about 50,000 people have downloaded it . The number of active users is even lower. All this led to Google putting an end to the app . According to the statement they published, those in Mountain View have learned many lessons during the two years that the service has been available.
The Big G recommends that you save your Cameo videos to Google Takeout (the app you use when exporting your photos from Google Photos). All content on Cameos will be removed from Google, so please back it up yourself.
