What are we talking about? From WhatsApp Premium, a new subscription that will include the platform and that many believe is a MOD, but it is not. What do we know about this new idea from Meta to monetize your app?
Exclusive benefits for those who pay the monthly subscription
Weeks ago we wrote a note that talked about the possible arrival of a WhatsApp subscription model. Now, thanks to WABetaInfo we know that it really exists, but it will work within WhatsApp Business . This new feature will be called WhatsApp Premium and will have to be paid monthly
As with Twitter Blue, this subscription will be optional within the platform and does not mean that WhatsApp will no longer be free for everyone. On the contrary, those companies that decide to pay for WhatsApp Premium will have access to additional features. Currently, not many exclusive news is known, but there are some confirmed:
- You can link up to 10 devices to your same WhatsApp Business account, in addition to changing the name of each one to easily identify them.
- You will be able to create a personalized short link for them to communicate with your company.
On this second point, WhatsApp currently allows you to generate contact links using your phone number. However, they are difficult for users to remember, so the platform decided to improve them with customizable links. What will these be like? Like wa.me/yourshortlink, for example wa.me/androidphoria .
Does this mean that your number will no longer be visible? Not within WhatsApp Business, but you can use the short link on other platforms to be easily remembered. Each link will be unique to open a specific chat and you can change it once every 90 days . At the moment we do not know other news of this subscription.
When will WhatsApp Premium launch?
WhatsApp Premium, the subscription model of WhatsApp Business, is under development and has not yet been formally announced . Thus, it is possible that there are still a few weeks or months for it to be implemented.
However, seeing the speed at which Meta is releasing new WhatsApp features, there could be a surprise release. Something we do know? This feature will come to Android and iOS , although it will surely also be implemented on computers through WhatsApp Web.
