In recent months, Motorola has had a real resurgence by announcing the launch of different mobiles and devices. Some of them appeal to nostalgia, such as the RAZR 3, but others like the Motorola Frontier are simply a bet to change everything .
And it is that, since Lenovo acquired this American company, it seems that it has sought to revive that spirit of innovation that we saw in Motorola at the beginning of the millennium.
Therefore, it is not surprising that a mobile like the Motorola Frontier promises a 200 MP camera , and although it has not been officially announced, we have here all the leaks so far .
What are the features of the Motorola Frontier?
Undoubtedly, all the features and specifications that have been leaked from the Motorola Frontier suggest that it will be a mobile that will compete side by side with the best of the high-end. If you don’t believe it, you can check it yourself with the following summary:
A cell phone with cameras from another world
The competition between mobile manufacturers seems to have focused on obtaining quality certificates, as is the case with the agreement between Leica and Xiaomi. But the Motorola Frontier 22 (another name by which it’s known) is enough to secure the best parts .
We see this in each of the cameras of this mobile, which come from Samsung . Thus, for example, the jewel in the crown is nothing more than the 200 MP ISOCELL HP1 from this Korean manufacturer.
Also, the ultra wide-angle camera is none other than Samsung’s 50 MP ISOCELL JN1 , which has the particularity of being ultra-thin and ensuring a capture of 0.67 μm pixels.
But, you will ask yourself… what does all this mean? Well, basically, we will achieve photos and videos with resolutions of 8K and 4K in various types of zoom without losing pixels or being affected by environmental conditions (light, darkness, hand movement, etc.).
State-of-the-art processor and RAM
A mobile like the Motorola Frontier cannot be slow or have a camera that is affected by a bottleneck in the processor. To avoid all this, it has the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which at the moment is left over as one of the best.
In addition, not only does it maintain an amount of RAM between 8 and 12 GB (something quite common in this range), but it also risks being one of the first phones this year to have LPDDR5 type RAM .
This type of RAM memory technology ensures two things, better transfer capacity and energy savings . So, with all this, you can forget about the possibility of a Motorola Frontier that does not have smooth transitions between apps.
Fast charging… but a small battery
At the moment, the Achilles heel of this mobile is the battery , because like many other luxury phones, it seeks to be thin and light. To do so, you sacrifice a bit of battery capacity. It only has a 4500 mAh battery .
And, although the technology that the Motorola Frontier has promises not to waste any electricity , we will have to wait and see how its real performance will be.
Compensating for this is the fact that it has ultra-fast 120W charging , which will hopefully secure a third charge in 15 minutes or less (just like the OnePlus Ace). In addition, it is special that wireless charging is also fast , being 50 W.
Displayport and NFC… still without much information
Two interesting points that have not yet been fully clarified are the USB C connection functions that the Motorola Frontier will have. In this sense, it seems that it will be able to connect to monitors via Displayport 1.4 with transfer rates of at least 32.4 GB / s.
But, it is not yet known if it will have the USB On-The-Go feature enabled, although it probably will. Finally, NFC technology will be available only in models from some regions (Asia almost certainly has this function).
It remains to be seen what the final provisions of these functions of the Motorola Frontier will be.
Motorola Frontier price and availability
The Motorola Frontier has not been officially announced in the West , so we can forget (for now) the exact date when it will be in Spain.
Also, it is difficult to know its price , but on this we can estimate that it will be around €1,000 , just like the Motorola Edge+.
