Twitter Circle is now official, a function to create a closed list of contacts on Twitter so that certain publications are only visible to them. Twitter Circle offers us a closed circle of users to share tweets that we do not want to make public in a general way.
Twitter Circle is a lot like the “best friends” list on Instagram, and when we post a tweet to this list only members of the circle can see and reply to it . Before sending it we will decide if we want to send it to the circle or with the usual privacy settings.
In Twitter Circle it is possible to create circles of up to 150 users , a relatively low limit. At any time we can edit the list, withdrawing or incorporating new members.
Other people won’t be able to see who we have in Twitter Circle , but it’s not entirely private either. When a user in the circle sees a tweet, they are told that it is for this reason, and that post is not available to everyone.
At the moment, this feature is in testing and some accounts already have it enabled . There is no way to enable it, Twitter itself decides who is part of this experiment, without indicating what criteria it uses to choose the lucky ones.
Twitter is a social network that is very open to debate, controversy and interaction between strangers. Not everyone feels comfortable in such an environment, or at least not all the time, and now they have an alternative for more private use.
With Twitter Circle it approaches the closest experience of networks like Instagram , while maintaining the possibility of sending public tweets. Circles are actually compatible with public and private accounts, and are just an extra layer of privacy.
