One of the great advantages that mobile phones have gained so much power in recent years is that the games they can run today are brutal . Simultaneous player and graphic limits are a thing of the past and the mobile gaming experience has exploded to unsuspected levels.

Tests? That games as demanding as Call of Duty Mobile, PUGB Mobile, Fortnite and more are a reality, but the best thing is that titles like this continue to be added. The last one that could reach your device? Destiny Mobile, another of the great triple A shooters that will come to mobile phones .

Destiny Mobile wouldn’t be a direct port of Destiny 2, but that’s not a bad thing

According to a report published by The Game Post (TPS), NetEase and Bungie would be working on a shooter for mobile devices . There’s no official confirmation that this is a Destiny 2 smartphone port, but a few things point in a similar direction.

  • The report is based on the LinkedIn profile of one of NetEase’s artists, who claims that his next project is an “unannounced mobile FPS” to be developed between NetEase and Bungie.
  • Multiple sources assured TPS that the collaboration between NetEase and Bungie has been going on for several years.
  • Bungie would be working on adapting its Tiger Engine graphics engine to mobile devices, the same one that Destiny uses.
  • Destiny is Bungie’s most popular game right now, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they brought it to mobile. Plus, fans have been asking for it for years.

Taking all of the above into account, the probability that Bungie and NetEase are working on a version of Destiny for Android and iOS is quite high. However, it seems that it will not be a port of Destiny 2 with cross-play between platforms and others, which is what everyone wants.

The future Destiny Mobile will be a full-fledged FPS, but it will work like League of Legends: Wild Rift. What does this mean? Missions and environments better adapted to smartphone screens, as well as cross-play only between mobile platforms .

Is it a step back from rival FPS like COD Mobile that does have cross-play between desktop and mobile platforms? Probably yes, but Bungie will have its reasons and surely this decision will be to offer a more stable, light and competitive game . Still, we’re really looking forward to this release and will enjoy it as much as Fortnite, Apex Legends, and more.
