Improved games or more of the same?
For us, the simple fact of having 3 of the most important Mario Bros titles in the same game is already a triumph. From the Nintendo website they announce that the 3 games have been updated to be able to play them without problems on the Switch. The controls, logically, had to be adapted to the technology of the Joy-Con (including vibrations).
Nintendo promised that the graphics would be in high definition and the resolution of the image would be something to see. And it is not that they have disappointed us, it is that the games have not been completely adapted to the Switch, nor are they a remake , nor do they have anything new. They are the same emulated programs. That is, they work almost the same as in their original versions, but you can enjoy them on a higher resolution screen; remember that the televisions of the 90s and early 2000s had nothing to do with those of today. The errors they had then, they still have to this day.
The fact that the games have been emulated has been a disappointment for many fans, as they expected to see a Super Mario 64 at the level of a Super Mario Odyssey and it is basically impossible. If we take into account that Nintendo has wanted to preserve the essence of 3 of its best titles, it is understandable that they kept them the same, with slight modifications, but to bring new generations closer to those wonderful years.

If you are not yet an expert in the use of Joy-Con, you can ask a friend for help with the Co-Star mode of Mario Galaxy, for example. In this mode, which Nintendo has always tried to include in its games, someone can help you pass the level or find the stars that you cannot reach. Let’s not forget that in Super Mario Galaxy it was essential to use the Wii remote as a computer mouse to select things. If you play in portable mode, you become the controller and you must point out items before playing. Something a bit uncomfortable if you are not used to it. However, the Joy-Con do work as pointers, which makes the experience more fluid.
You wonder if this Nintendo title is compatible with the Switch Lite console. The answer is yes, but with its limitations. What you can do to live the full experience is to get yourself some independent Joy-Con.
