Santander Wallet disappears: there are no NFC payments at the moment

If you are a Santander bank user or have just opened an account, you should know that the Santander Wallet app has disappeared from Google Play and it is no longer possible to download it . But even so, you will be able to use NFC payments and you will have to wait for the new app that the Santander bank will launch.

As we have seen in a thread created in Forocoches, some users have reported that the Santander Wallet app can no longer be downloaded from the web, Google Play and the App Store. It seems that the Santander bank is developing another new app or they may finally be preparing to roll out to Google Pay and Apple Pay.

As we can see on the official Twitter account of Banco Santander , on May 20, through a tweet, it warned its users that the Santander Wallet app was no longer available and they are looking for a way to offer alternatives to the users.

No Santander Wallet app, but you can pay via NFC

Banco Santander has deactivated its Santander Wallet application , this means that you will not be able to download it from Google Play or the App Store, so you will not be able to make NFC payments at the moment, unless you fulfill any of these options:

  1. You are a Samsung user and use the Samsung Pay app as a payment method.
  2. You are an iPhone user and use Apple Pay as a payment method.

Some users have reported the impossibility of making NFC payments because the Santander Wallet app does not work . If you are a user of any other Android than Samsung or an iPhone, you will not be able to make NFC payments.

Otherwise, if you have a Samsung mobile you can make payments through Samsung Pay, since it allows you to link your Banco Santander card with said payment method. The same happens with iPhone, through Apple Pay you can make payments if you have your card added.

Free apps that you should install on your mobile

All that remains is to wait for Banco Santander to solve all the problems with Santander Wallet and launch an app again to be able to make NFC payments through its compatible devices.
