Every year, Samsung hosts its big ‘Unpacked’ event in February to launch its flagship Galaxy S series. But this time, the Samsung Galaxy S21 event will take place a little earlier than usual. The company will celebrate it on January 14 at 4:00 p.m. on Samsung.com.
Three models will be the protagonists in the event of the Samsung Galaxy S21
Samsung started sending out invitations to the event to the media a few days ago and shared a video showing the type of camera that the Samsung Galaxy S21 series will incorporate . Although Samsung has not yet revealed the names of the devices that will be unveiled next week, they are likely to be the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus and S21 Ultra .
Samsung Galaxy S21 Series Specifications
According to rumors published in different media, the Galaxy S21 will feature a 6.2-inch Full-HD + Infinity-O screen with 2x Dynamic AMOLED screen and a pixel density of 421ppi , while the Galaxy S21 Plus will include a 6.7-inch screen. with a refresh rate of 120Hz .
The higher-end Galaxy S21 Ultra is said to be designed with an even larger 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O display with 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 7 protection .
All three models can run the latest version of Android 11 with One UI 3.1 and will be powered by the Exynos 2100 SoC octa-core processor .
Additionally, the base model and Plus may come with 8GB of RAM with 128GB and 256GB of internal storage options. The Galaxy S21 Ultra could feature 12GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB for internal storage.
Regarding photography and video, rumors indicate that the successor models of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series could include a triple rear camera system with a 64-megapixel primary sensor , a 12-megapixel secondary camera and a 12-megapixel third in the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is also expected to feature a multi-lens setup with a 108-megapixel main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and two additional zoom sensors with a 10-megapixel resolution – one of these has a field vision of 35 degrees and an aperture of f / 2.4; while the other has a 10-degree field of view, but designed with periscope optics to offer a 240mm focal length. It will also include a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field of view. The design of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra model will feature a laser autofocus system on the back.
Regarding autonomy, the Samsung Galaxy S21 may include a 4,000 mAh battery , while the Galaxy S21 + battery will have a capacity of 4,800 mAh . Both phones are expected to have 25W fast charging support, along with Qi wireless charging compatibility. In the Ultra model, the battery will have 5000 mAh with 45 W fast charging support, in addition to supporting wireless charging.
Connectivity options on all three phones include a USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and 5G . Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is also expected to support the S Pen as an optional accessory .
