How to enter Xiaomi Cloud and what can you save in it?

- To enter the cloud go to “Settings” and look for “My Account”.
- You will see a menu called “Xiaomi Cloud”. Upon entering, look for a gray box called “Cloud Backup”.

Other important Xiaomi cloud backups
Xiaomi Cloud allows you to backup the data of other native applications in the cloud . You can turn these backups on or off. We will explain the most important:
- Gallery: save the photos you take with your mobile. You can select two storage formats:

- Original: They take up more space and can only be downloaded over Wi-Fi .

- Contacts: stores the contacts in your mobile phone book and you can check them online from another device.
- Call history: save all the calls you have made and received on your mobile.
- Wi-Fi: Stores the Wi-Fi networks and passwords that you have access to.
- Calendar: save all appointments, reminders, birthdays, etc. that you have in the Xiaomi calendar.

The Xiaomi cloud has a problem (the space)
Xiaomi’s 5 GB free cloud storage capacity seems sufficient, but if you add image backup, things change. If you add to this that you have to consider the size of other data on your mobile, everything becomes even more complicated.

In addition to being able to save your Xiaomi data in the cloud for free, it also offers you three paid space plans that are cheap compared to other plans. These plans are expressed in Chinese dollars (HKD) but below we leave you their price in euros. You can see them on the same Xiaomi Cloud screen, by pressing the gray box that says “VIP – Update your data plan”. The plans are:
- Premium: you have an extra 50 GB and per year it is HKD 99, which is equivalent to 12 euros per year .
- Mega: they give you an extra 200 GB and annually it is 318 HKD or 35 euros per year . Google One is cheaper for 200 GB but the 50 GB plan is interesting, in fact we have paid for it from time to time because of how useful it is and how fast its cloud works.
- Ultra: 1TB of extra storage for 949 HKD which is equal to 105 euros per year .
You also have the option to open your Xiaomi Cloud from any browser . You enter the official website , enter the data of your Mi account and that’s it. From there you can manage the data saved in the cloud, very useful for deleting photos, for example.
