Goodbye to Spotify Stations, the free streaming music app

Approximately 4 years ago, Spotify introduced us to its free streaming music app Stations , well, we have learned that this app is going to close . The platform was accessed using the same password and user as Spotify, and it had a variety of music stations, depending on the type of music you would like to listen to.

Spotify is giving users the opportunity to switch their playlists from Stations to Spotify so they don’t lose them before they close the app. Being a free option, its functions are quite limited, just like Spotify, if you don’t have Spotify Premium, it doesn’t allow you to choose the song you want to listen to within the same list, but it does allow you to skip a song.

May 16th will be the day that Stations will close forever. Spotify has not given any explanation or the reason why they have decided to close this app, at least users are being given the opportunity to send their lists from one app to another and thus continue enjoying their music.

Stations was a Spotify experiment

If you are a Stations user, surely you also have a Spotify account and you should know that Spotify also has radio stations based on your musical tastes and based on the music you listen to on a daily basis.

For Spotify, Stations has been a simple experiment , this may have been the reason and that now the Spotify app, with its Spotify Radio function, users will be able to have the same user experience as they had with Stations.

As of Friday the 16th, the Stations app will no longer be available for download from the App Store and Google Play stores , although it will continue to be functional for users to migrate their lists to Spotify.

Now, if you are a Stations user, you should know that soon you will have to stop using it, since Spotify will stop allowing its download and will close it forever. This free music app will be shut down , but fear not, because there are plenty of alternatives out there.
