Bad news for Windows 11: its first major update is delayed to this date

The launch of Windows 11 can be considered a relative success, but the operating system has come out with problems, the correction of which we now know will take longer than expected. The first big update is delayed , or at least it will come out at a later date than users expected.

While it is possible to download Windows 11 for free on compatible computers, many users do not do so due to performance issues with different types of hardware, interface slowdowns (including file explorer), and because some features of Windows 10 are missing. they were quite popular.

The first major update to Windows 11 would arrive in the summer of 2022 , as development would not end until May of that year. This means a later date than expected by users, since in the past Microsoft released an update with new features in May/April of each year, and another in September/October.

Microsoft anticipates that by mid-2022 it will have shipped Windows 11 to all compatible older computers, after reviewing that it will not generate errors, so it would be a good time to start the rollout of the first major update.

The leaks say that the so-called Windows 11 22H2 or “Sunny Valley 2” (its code name) would focus on polishing and improving the software , not on great news.

Of course, some lost features in the taskbar would be returned, a dark mode would be added even in the old design menus and more widgets, including from external developers.

In fact, widgets will be downloadable from the Microsoft Store , and long-awaited Android apps for Windows 11 will work after this update. In addition, apps such as notepad, Music, Mail and Calendar will be updated.

It’s unclear if it’s something tied directly to Windows 11 22H2, but support for ARM processors would be a priority in 2022 , after the disappointment that Apple will quickly overtake Microsoft in this segment despite arriving years later.

All of these features are unconfirmed leaks, and presumably the highest priority will be fixing performance and interface issues, which generate the most complaints.

For now the downsides to not upgrading to Windows 11 are quite a few, so let’s hope the first major update to Windows 11 will make it more usable , and iron out the release polish.
