As of today , the price increase in Disney + is effective , which the company had been delaying for months for subscribers who had registered with the launch price. The cost rose appreciably, but also the content of Disney + had increased a lot.
With the arrival of the new Star content on Disney+ last year, the price was raised to 8.99 euros per month (2 more euros) or 89.99 euros per year (20 more euros) , being applied instantly for new registrations made from February 2021.
A reasonable increase if we think that the catalog of series, movies and programs increased considerably , although mandatory for all, because it is not possible to do without Star to maintain the previous share.
The new registrations began to pay the updated fee in February 2021, while the previous clients were going to see the increase at the end of the summer. In the end, Disney + has been delaying this decision, and subscribers will have the new fee applied between February and March 2022 .
These are the new Disney + prices for 2022:
- €8.99/month (previously €6.99/month).
- €89.99/year (previously €69.99/year).
Unfortunately, Disney+ no longer has a free trial period , not even the 7 days that were offered until recently.
Depending on the date of registration, we will see the first charge with the new price on one day or another. In the case of the annual fee, it will be on the date of the next renewal.
In any case, Disney + is still much cheaper than Netflix , and we cannot forget that HBO Max is becoming a more competitive alternative. If we want to save as much as possible, it is possible to share a Disney+ account with friends and family.
Therefore, the next Disney+ charge will reflect the price increase , also for the first subscribers who had purchased the initial fee, prior to the launch of the Disney+ Star additional content.
