The study this time is from Trend Micro and reveals that more than 240 apps have been available on Google Play with active spyware . This type of malware is capable of collecting passwords saved on your device in a relatively simple way.

The study does not reveal the complete list of the 240 affected Android applications , but it does reveal some of them and the most common types. It is important that you check if any of them are still on your device or if they have been installed.

These are the 8 apps that are revealed in the study as malicious. All of them carried a spyware code that has gone unnoticed by Google Play. Between all of them, it is estimated that they have infected a few tens of thousands of Android mobiles around the world.

The “good news” is that most have already been removed from the Google store. Of course, they may still be on your device or have done damage in the past. Of the 240 apps, a large part fell into the categories of photo editing, camera apps and VPN apps.
