These are the Xiaomi devices that will no longer have support in May

The list of mobiles and other Xiaomi devices without support since May 2022 is updated again, which add expected additions. As they are not supported, they will no longer receive updates, not even security patches, so it will be less and less advisable to use them.

Xiaomi mobiles have about 2 years of major updates and 3 years of security patches (depending on the model), then they go into a state called End of Life (EOL) or “end of life” . From then on, its software is no longer updated , so any vulnerabilities discovered in Android or MIUI will put us at risk.

Just a few days ago we learned that the Xiaomi Redmi Go, Note 7 and Note 7 Pro were losing support, and now it’s up to models like the Xiaomi Mi 8 UD, Mi Play or Redmi Note 7S . Not all of those on the list have reached Spain or Latin America, some have only been sold in China.

We are going to collect all devices without support from May 9, 2022 , not only mobiles and tablets, but also wearables, smart home equipment and more:

We already knew which Xiaomi mobiles were not going to be updated to MIUI 13, but the list also implies that they will not receive security patches with Google’s corrections on Android, nor those made by the manufacturer on their own in the MIUI layer.

These are the mobiles of the Xiaomi and Mi ranges that are left without support:

  1. Xiaomi Mi; My 2 and 2A; My 3; My 4, 4S and 4c; My 5, 5s, 5s Plus, 5c and 5X; My 6 and 6X; Mi 8 SE, Mi 8 UD, 8 Lite and 8 Explorer Edition; My 9 SE.
  2. Xiaomi Mi Note, Note 2, Note 3 and Note Pro.
  3. Xiaomi A1, A2 and A2 Lite.
  4. Xiaomi Pad, Pad 2, Pad 3, Pad 4 and Pad 4 Plus.
  5. Xiaomi Mix, Mix 2, Mix 2S and Mix 3.
  6. Xiaomi Mi Mix, Mix 2S and Mi Mix 3.
  7. Xiaomi Mi Max and Mi Max 2.
  8. Xiaomi Lotus and Mi Play.

These are the Redmi and Redmi Note mobiles that go into EOL status:

  1. Redmi 1 and 1S; 2 and 2A; 3, 3S and 3X; 4, 4X and 4S; 5, 5A and 5Plus; 6, 6A and 6 Pro.
  2. Redmi Pro and Go.
  3. Redmi S2 and Y2.
  4. Redmi Note 1 and 1S; Note 2 and 2 Pro, Note 3; Note 4 and 4X; Note 5 and 5A; Note 6 Pro, Note 7, 7s and 7 Pro.

Other Xiaomi devices at EOL (May 2022)

Here we are already talking about more varied devices, and losing updates poses a different risk in each one . Perhaps in a Xiaomi Band fitness bracelet it is not a serious threat, but in a surveillance camera it could be a privacy problem if some way of remote access is discovered.

These are the devices without support:

  1. Xiaomi Mi Band, Band 2, Band 3, Band 3i, Band 4, Watch and Watch Color Keith Haring.
  2. Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop, Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P (TW) and Roborock Robot Vacuum-Mop (TW-White) vacuum cleaners.
  3. Xiaomi Mi Router (HDD), New Mi Router (HDD), Mi Router 4, 4Q, 4, 3C, 3A, 3G, Pro, HD, Lite, Mini, IR1200G and R3GV2.
  4. Xiaoai Speaker mini and Xiaomi AI Speaker speakers.
  5. My Electric Scooter.
  6. Surveillance cameras Mi Smart Video Doorbell 2 Lite, Home Security Camera 360° 1080P, Home Smart Cat Eye and Home Xiaobai Smart Camera Enhanced.

In reality, in May 2022 the list of unsupported devices does not grow too much, but it is inevitable that it will gradually increase, as Xiaomi has been launching many products every month for years.
