One of the latest changes that Instagram is introducing is a new way to upload posts to your stories . What used to be as simple as clicking on the paper plane icon and choosing “Add post to your story” has now become much more complex.
It seems that the platform is becoming very fond of the stickers or widgets that you can put on Instagram stories. Little by little they are replacing functions, such as inserting a link in the stories, and now it’s up to the function of sharing publications . We explain how you can continue sharing posts in your Instagram stories from the last update!
How to share posts on your Instagram stories now?
First of all, we must clarify that this is not a definitive change in Instagram. At the moment, tests are being carried out so that some random users have this new way of republishing posts in their stories.
If you are one of these users who can no longer upload Instagram posts to their stories as usual, we tell you how you can do it now:
- When you see a post you want to share in stories, like it. We recommend that you save it as well to be able to find it more easily.
- Go to the story editor and enter Create Mode .
- Once inside, click on the smiley sticker that you will see at the top of the screen.
- Choose the “ Repost” widget.
- Select the post you want to upload to your stories. You have three galleries where you can look for it: the last posts you have seen , your saved posts, and the posts uploaded to your own profile .
- Choose, if necessary, which slide of the post is the one you want to share in the stories.
- Now you can add music to your story or decorate it however you want.
- Upload the post to your story as usual, clicking on the “Your story” button that you will see on the bottom left.
The importance of sharing the posts of other Instagram users in Stories
As you probably already know, the visibility of Instagram stories is much higher than that of profile posts. Therefore, sharing posts in your stories is one of our best tips to grow on Instagram, just like choosing the hashtags well.
However, this change in the way of sharing a publication in stories is going to be detrimental to the growth of users on the platform.
For example, small business accounts looking to make a name for themselves on Instagram could ask their followers to share their posts in stories . Now, by having to go to stories and find a post to share from a widget, far fewer people are going to want to make that effort .
For this reason, petitions have even been opened on Change.org so that this change does not end up staying on the platform. If OnlyFans backed down on their decision to ban sexual content on their platform, Instagram can put things back the way they were!
