A few weeks ago, LinkedIn presented its new live events that work like Clubhouse and Twitch, to promote deeper and more enjoyable interaction between professionals and companies that make life on this social network. Not satisfied with this, LinkedIn is now testing its own podcast section within the platform, which they have called the LinkedIn Podcast Network.
During the pilot phase, this LinkedIn podcast option will include shows on topics like technology, hiring, and mental health , delivered by outside experts and its own news team. The idea behind these podcasts is to offer professionals and companies a new way to share their experiences and knowledge.
Podcasts officially arrive on LinkedIn
Although the new LinkedIn Podcast Network section is in the testing phase, the platform has already prepared several programs to make its debut a success . Perhaps the most interesting will be “Start-Up of You” by Reid Hoffman (the very same co-founder of LinkedIn and former member of the board of directors who created PayPal) which will talk about personal entrepreneurship. Without a doubt, a voice that must be heard.
Jessi Hempel’s “Hello Monday” podcast (produced by LinkedIn News) about the evolution of work will also be available. This was the podcast that prompted the creation of this new space on the platform, so pay attention to it. By the way, all of these shows will be ad-supported, though the only sponsor they have now is Verizon.
Podcasts from the LinkedIn Podcast Network will be streamed within the platform itself and will be integrated with other features such as newsletters, posts, and live events. To access them you will only have to follow the hosts and subscribe to their newsletters . However, you can also listen to them on other platforms, such as Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
On the other hand, it should be noted that all brands and professionals who wish to upload their podcasts to LinkedIn must request it by filling out this form . For now, the LinkedIn Podcast Network is only available in English, so we have to wait for it to officially launch globally before we can try it out.
