In case you didn’t know, Windows 11 makes it easy to install Android apps . However, this feature is still very limited in access by Microsoft, so the community acted accordingly. The result? WSATools, an app that facilitates this installation task and eliminates all the restrictions currently imposed by Microsoft.
Its performance is excellent for a tool that is still in the development phase, but its main manager (Simone Franco) knows well that there is still a long way to go. Proof of this is that he announced the main feature that will come with WSATools 0.2.0 : application backup.
That’s right, once WSATools 0.2.0 is released, users will be able to make a backup copy of their Android applications in Windows 11 and then recover them whenever they want. The backup will include all the user data and previous configurations, so it will be an ideal functionality to recover all your information after formatting Windows.
According to Franco, the backup will be done through a file in VHDX format that will store the entire Windows subsystem for Android . It is a feature that will surely need to be refined over time, as it is a complete backup and not individual applications, but it is a great initial step.
With this, WSATools is one step further in the integration between Android and Windows, as we must also remember that recently the compatibility with Android ADB was enabled to facilitate the installation of applications.
When will WSATools 0.2.0 arrive with application support?
Despite being a very useful feature that we would like to see operational now, we must tell you that there is no exact date for the WSATools 0.2.0 update to be released for all audiences. Simone Franco announced this news on her Twitter account, but did not mention any date. Even so, it should not be too long to arrive, but it is available to users who are part of the Windows 11 Insider channel.
