Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22533 is now available, that is, the latest testing or beta version of the operating system. Its biggest novelty is a redesign for the volume and brightness indicator , whose previous appearance did not fit with the aesthetics of Windows 11.
Windows 11 Insider 22533 has been released within the Dev Channel (developer channel) , which is the most unstable of the three that Microsoft offers, and the one that receives the news first. Not everyone will want to download it, but it gives us an idea of what new features await us in the coming months.
This is how the brightness and volume controls look new:
The color of the box adapts dark or light mode , unlike the current design. It is not just an informative panel, if while it is on the screen we click with the mouse it is possible to adjust the bar in this way.
The black controls that currently appear in one corner are direct heirs to the aesthetics of Windows 8, so it was time to renew them.
In addition, the call interface in the Your Phone app, which is integrated into Windows 11, is also redesigned to interact with our smartphone. Usage does not change, but the new window is more intuitive:
Additionally, there have been some other minor tweaks to Windows 11 Insider 22533 that are interesting:
- Voice Access can be pinned to the taskbar and searched from Start.
- The Clock app can be uninstalled.
- The Start context menu (or by pressing Win + X) now indicates “Installed Apps” instead of “Apps & Features”.
- Visual keyboard themes are available to everyone in this beta.
This latest version includes fixes for several small bugs , as well as a number of known bugs . As always, it is not advisable to install beta software (tests) on our main computer.
If we want to try this version 22533 we have two options: download the Windows 11 ISO for free to install it on the PC from scratch through a pendrive, or join the Windows Insider program through the settings, so that the update is automatic.
Since the requirements of Windows 11 are quite demanding, many computers are left out, although it is possible to install Windows 11 on unsupported computers without too much trouble.
Unfortunately, we don’t know when these new features will be released for everyone , although a likely bet is the first major Windows 11 22H2 update expected in mid-2022. It would polish various details, fix performance issues, and hopefully , support for Android apps would be enabled.
In general, the improvements of Windows 11 Insider 22533 are interesting , they are not intended for the general public, but Microsoft fans will surely be delighted to try these tweaks before anyone else.
