WhatsApp will show your custom background on calls

WhatsApp developers are working on an option that will show us the custom background of chats in calls . A useful idea, because it will help those who change the background for certain contacts to see who is calling them faster.

We recently learned that WhatsApp will redesign the call interface, adapting the icons for large screens, and now we know that the new interface will include other new features, such as custom backgrounds.

Backgrounds are sometimes used for WhatsApp to give the application a different look, however, by customizing them for some specific contacts it is easier to identify the conversation at a glance , or give it a special touch if it is a chat with a significant person.

Well, this redesign with the backgrounds on the call screens is already hidden in the WhatsApp code:

It is a function under development, for now the default background always appears, but it is expected that when it is finished it will show the background that we have chosen , even if we have customized it for different contacts.

It’s a useful feature, and in unofficial versions like the popular WhatsApp Plus, the “dialer” (the call screen) can be profoundly modified for a long time, to the point that there is a store to download themes.

On the other hand, functions as desired as recording WhatsApp voice calls are left aside for now. Each country has a specific regulation in this regard, and most apps do not give this option to avoid legal problems.

Unfortunately, there is no date for the new design to launch , and it could even be canceled if it doesn’t meet company goals. Most likely, it will end up reaching the public, with these novelties and others that are incorporated.

Thanks to the personalized backgrounds it will be easier to identify the calls , it is true that the profile picture is shown, but in this way we will see more easily who is calling us even if the mobile is at a certain distance at that moment.
