WhatsApp for Windows adds dark mode

A beta of WhatsApp for Windows is adding the dark mode , so that the user can darken the application interface when he wants to use the application, for example, at night or in any environment with low light, a parameter to take care of visual health .

Dark mode is widely used, not only in WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp applications, but in many other applications. It’s really about design aspect more than anything else because the app itself all it does is darken.

In the WhatsApp UWP app for Windows it is not yet available, but according to WABetaInfo, it has already been seen in one of the latest beta versions that availability would be imminent, so the dark mode will probably arrive in one of the next app updates .

When that happens, the user will be able to go to the WhatsApp settings and within the “general” section, they will find that parameter to modify the theme. It is important to note that once enabled, you will have to close and open the utility for the change to take effect.

That will be the case if you want to activate it manually, but another possibility is to activate the dark mode in Windows and WhatsApp will automatically adopt it as well. The last option is probably the most comfortable, since if you have the dark theme permanently enabled in Windows, it will also be enabled in WhatsApp .

Apart from the dark theme itself, there are also some minor design changes to the WhatsApp for Windows interface, for example, less space in the chat bubbles and something lighter. For the rest, there is no additional novelty.

However, WhatsApp for Windows should receive the different news that WhatsApp will launch in 2022, but that will happen in the coming months. At the moment, the dark mode in this version of the app is only available to beta testers, which means that only a few users can try it, later it will be available to everyone.
