Twitter already offers NFTs for profile pictures

The latest news from Twitter allows you to use NFTs as profile photos , that is, those who own one of these digital works of art can show it to the world. Twitter will confirm that we do indeed have that NFT and it is not a simple image, as it is linked to our virtual wallet.

Profile picture NFTs are in limited testing, require a Twitter Blue subscription for now, and only work on iOS. Through the Labs section of Twitter Blue we can test this striking idea.

It is possible to upload any NFT that we have from this new menu that appears in the mobile app for iOS:

Profile -> Edit Profile -> Photo -> Choose NFT -> Connect My Wallet

Accepted wallets include MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, Trust, Argent, and Ledger Live . Actually, you could also upload a photo of that NFT and the look and feel will be the same, but when users click on the image it will indicate whether it is a verified NFT or a standard profile photo.

We have already explained what an NFT (non-fungible token) is, a digital multimedia element (usually photos, but can also be GIFs, videos, documents or other files) whose authenticity and owner are verified through a blockchain network.

Since they are unique items, whose property cannot be copied, some have achieved considerable value . Halfway between art, collecting and investment, certain collections of NFTs are worth millions of euros, as is the case with CryptoPunks.

Actually, anyone can create their own NFTs from its content, the complex thing is that third parties give them that value.

Those who have joined the NFT craze now have the ability to put their most precious NFTs on Twitter . It is true that it requires paying the Twitter Blue subscription, but that should not be a problem for those who own NFTs valued at thousands or millions of euros.
