Twitch will warn if your videos include copyrighted audio to avoid "strikes"

Twitch prepares a kind of warnings for live videos or clips with audio that infringe copyright . In other words, now you will receive a warning if you have copyrighted audio in your videos, so you must be very attentive to the audio of your live broadcasts.

Starting today, Twitch will notify you if your live broadcasts or clips contain any audio that includes copyright, in addition, this will allow streamers to review the videos and thus avoid receiving a “strike”.

The operation of this new warning system will cause Twitch to automatically mute copyrighted audio streams that you have saved on your channel and will remove clips that have copyrighted audio, thus preventing you from receiving a strike.

If we think about it, it is a great measure on the part of Twitch , because this will allow content creators to continue with their channel without receiving copyright notices and thus avoid being banned from their channels in order to continue working.

Twitch will do these measurements automatically, but it will not inform you about any type of audio content, nor will it offer tools to eliminate it, so each streamer will have to do it on their own and with tools external to the platform.

What Twitch is changing from now on when copyrighted audio is detected in live streams or saved clips is as follows:

  1. A notification will be sent via Twitch.
  2. Information about the copyrighted audio will be informed to the streamer via email.
  3. A link to the video or clip will be sent with said content claim.
  4. Livestream settings will be changed to override the default posting of on-demand livestreams (reuploaded livestreams).

In the event that the publication configuration of the videos on demand has been changed, the owner of the channel will be able to change said option, although the platform does not recommend it. With these new measures , Twitch makes fewer violations of copyright and thus avoid “strike” in the channels.
