The Redmi A1+ will be the best ultra-cheap Xiaomi: leaked features

redmi a1 plus rumor

Although the last Xiaomi with pure Android has already said goodbye (the Xiaomi Mi A3 was left without official support), the Chinese brand launched this year a low-end mobile without MIUI with Android 12 Go Edition . We are talking about the cheap Redmi A1, which for less than 100 euros offers you a 6.52-inch HD+ screen, a 5000 mAh battery, 4G and a 8 MP + 2 MP dual camera.

An improved version of this mobile, called Redmi A1+ , has begun to appear on various certification websites. Now, the Appuals people have leaked the main specifications and some renders of this new Redmi A1 Plus. Will it be the Xiaomi without MIUI that we are all waiting for? Let’s find out.

This will be the Redmi A1 Plus: modest improvements to stay affordable

Unfortunately, the Redmi A1 Plus will not be a powerful mobile. According to the leak, it will continue to carry the Helio A22 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. Furthermore, it will have the same design as its standard sibling , as you can tell from the leaked image above. It will even be sold in the same colors: black, blue and green.

It will only include a few improvements, such as the addition of a fingerprint reader on the back and the use of full Android 12 instead of the light version (Android 12 Go Edition) that its brother carries. Here we leave you all its filtered specifications for you to compare:

  • Screen : 6.52″ HD+ with 1600 x 720 resolution, 20:9 ratio, 120 Hz touch refresh rate and up to 400 nits of brightness.
  • Processor : MediaTek Helio A22.
  • RAM : 2GB LPDDR4X.
  • Storage : 32GB.
  • Rear camera : dual 8 MP with unknown secondary sensor.
  • Selfie camera: single 5 MP.
  • Battery : 5000 mAh with 10W charging.
  • Connectivity : 3.5 mm headphone jack, Micro USB port, Dual SIM 4G, micro SD slot expandable up to 512 GB, 2.4 GHz WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0.
  • Extras : rear fingerprint reader and a speaker.
  • Operating system : Android 12 Stock.

The fact of using Android 12 instead of Android 12 Go is interesting, since this does not really make the device more powerful, but it does make it less limited when installing apps. Remember that many apps are not available for Android Go. However, by allowing the user to install the apps they want, it is possible to experience slowdown problems with certain processes.

How much will the Redmi A1 Plus cost?

Considering that the Redmi A1 is worth 99 euros in Europe, we bet that this slightly improved version with a fingerprint reader will cost approximately 110 euros . Maybe more or maybe a little less, but it should be around that price.
