The Dimensity 9000 has everything you need to stand out
It is no secret to anyone that MediaTek does not stop growing . The brand’s SoCs no longer have anything to envy the Snapdragon in the mid-range and low-range.
In turn, remember that the Asian company’s chips are cheaper than Qualcomm’s . This has caused MediaTek to be the number one manufacturer of mobile processors for 2 years in a row.
Now, MediaTek still has a hard time closing the gap with Qualcomm on the high-end . An example of this is the top 10 mobile phones with the best performance of December 2021, a ranking that Snapdragon dominate almost 100%.
But everything indicates that the Taiwan-based company will finally hit the table with the Dimensity 9000 . For this, the SoC has great improvements, such as:

The MTK Dimensity 9000 surprises in the benchmarks and stands up to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
Everything that we have just told you has been reflected in the benchmarks of this chip. Specifically, the points obtained by the Dimensity 9000 in the tests were the following:
- A mobile with the SoC went through AnTuTu (specifically, version 9.0.7) and obtained a score of 1017488 . For its part, the SD 8 Gen 1 reached 1031302 points, but it did so in AnTuTu 8.
- In GeekBench 5.1, the Dimensity 9000 CPU results showed that:
- The SoC achieved 1273 points with only one core working.
- The Dimensity 9000 achieved a score of 4324 having all clusters running .
On GeekBench the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 did not fare so well. With a single core, Qualcomm’s flagship reached 1233 points. Afterwards, the SD 8 Gen 1 scored 3740 with all cores working.
The reason for this is that the Dimensity 9000 adds about 0.9 GHz more speed in the intermediate level cluster (thanks to the 3 ARM Cortex-A710 cores at 2.85 GHz) than the SD 8 Gen 1. This difference causes that in the MediaTek processor comes out winning in the power of the CPU .
Now, the SD 8 Gen 1 stayed with the GPU section. Specifically, the SoC achieved a score of 267 FPS in GFXBench Manhattan 3.0. For its part, the Dimensity 9000 reached 238 FPS in the benchmark .
This reflects that the Adreno GPUs are still one step above the ARM Mali GPUs that MediaTek uses in its processors.
Will 2022 be the year MediaTek overtakes Qualcomm at the high end?
In any case, remember that all the Dimensity 9000 benchmarks were made on non-commercial mobiles . Perhaps the performance of smartphones with this SoC that are released in 2022 are not as powerful as in the tests.
