Samsung Flex Hybrid: the hybrid screen capable of folding and sliding at the same time

Samsung Flex Hybrid: una pantalla innovadora que se pliega y desliza

After helping to cement the advent of foldable phones with its Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, Samsung continues to dabble in this new technology despite how precarious it seems . It is known that he will soon show a new hybrid screen concept at CES 2023, capable of folding and sliding at the same time. The company calls it the Flex Hybrid, and it will apparently be earmarked for future notebooks if all goes well.

It is a screen that has a folding design on the left side, and a sliding design on the right . In the same way, it is known that its left side will be a 10.5-inch screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio, while the right will have a 12.4-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio. On both sides it is possible to play videos of any type, you just have to choose which one to use.

Will we soon see the Samsung Flex Hybrid in the new laptops?

At the moment, it is not known for sure when this technology will begin to be implemented in laptops. Samsung will only demonstrate the usability of the screen separately, so it will be a matter of waiting to see it in action on a device as such.

It is still difficult to imagine a new landscape where folding screens are predominant in mobile phones, tablets and laptops. After all, there are still several problems with folding phones and everything related to the technology itself.

It is important to take into account that, in addition, it is one thing to show the screen separately as a prototype, and quite another that it is really viable for sale to the public . In any case, if the screen achieves the desired success, it is possible that it will not only be seen on laptops, but also on tablets.
