Samsung and iFixit want you to repair the mobile on your own

Samsung e iFixit le permitiran a los usuarios reparar sus moviles en casa

Everything would seem to indicate that Samsung wants to distance itself from Apple as much as possible . A clear example of this is the agreement it has entered into with iFixit, a company that offers complete and very useful manuals so that users can repair their mobile devices on their own.

In the statement announcing this agreement, Samsung intends to lower the cost of repairing its phones and tablets . In other words, the South Korean company will allow the users themselves to repair the devices with 100% original parts, even offering guarantees similar to those that can be accessed when paying for a professional service.

Offering very complete and intuitive manuals, all users who have a mobile device manufactured by Samsung will be able to replace any part that has been damaged .

Some of the pieces that are going to start being marketed, and to which users will be able to access, are the ones that we mention below:

  • Screen panels.
  • Rear glass.
  • Loading port.

It is expected that more spare parts will be added, although at the moment these will be the elements that can be purchased (at low cost) to repair a Samsung terminal.

Of course, for now, and according to what Samsung has reported, the spare parts that will go on sale will only be for the Galaxy S20 and S21 , as well as for the Galaxy Tab S7+ tablet.

If this agreement ends up being successful, Samsung would expand the list of products , although the latter has not been confirmed.

A service that will only be available in the United States

Samsung officials have reported that this program will only be available in the United States . They have not yet clarified that it will reach other countries, so we are waiting to find out if it will be put into operation or not in Spain.

Taking advantage of this topic, we want to remind you that there is a note where we talk about the 10 easiest phones to repair, information that has been given to us by the iFixit company itself.

Without much more to add about it, Samsung could eventually copy the method that Xiaomi has chosen at some point, what method? The one that allows users to repair their mobiles through an app.
