The mobile version of one of the most popular Battle Royale, PUBG, is going through very difficult times in India . As reported by the company behind its development in India, Krafton, the game in question was removed without any prior notice from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
It is worth mentioning that, like what happened with Fortnite, those users who have PUBG installed on their mobile devices will be able to continue accessing it . If for some reason they decide to delete it, they will no longer be able to download it again, since it will not appear in the mentioned application stores.
Why was PUBG Mobile removed from Play Store and App Store in India?
Krafton, the company behind PUBG Mobile India, reported that it is investigating the reason why the game was removed from both stores . Although they still do not have any type of response about the fact, they published a statement in which they try to clarify what happened:
“ We are in contact with the directors of the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store to clarify the situation. At the precise moment in which they made the decision to remove the game from both stores, we received an alert message, a message that we have responded to immediately.
For now, the only thing that is known is that the game was removed from both stores at the request of the Indian government of the day . It is worth remembering that PUBG had already been removed at the beginning of 2020 due to security problems, a decision that was reversed when these problems were solved with a version of the game adapted to the Indian policies (Battlegrounds Mobile India).
It is expected that over the next few days the reason why it was decided to remove the game from both application stores will be known, although it is probably the same reason why the original game was removed before.
