New Google Play rules you should know: goodbye to certain ads and removal of copied apps

Google Play will change in a few weeks for the better. The Google app store has a new set of rules that will take effect on September 30, 2022 . Among these changes is an improvement in app ads and the removal of thousands of copies of other important apps . Google wants to improve its store and users will benefit from these changes.

For years, Google has been accused of having an app sieve with intrusive ads and apps copied from others. It seems that in a few weeks there will be an important cleaning in these two aspects.

Google will end full screen ads

If you have installed games and apps over the past few years, you will know that some of them show quite annoying ads. Google wants to end them and will limit, in its rules, which ads can be shown to users.

The most remarkable thing about the new list is that the full-screen ads are over. The apps that show them will be outside the limit that Google allows and, therefore, could be removed.

These types of ads are very annoying and closing them is not easy in most cases. The company aims to improve the user experience with Android games and apps, so these ads are left out of the equation.

Copies of apps are also prohibited

In Google Play it is easy to search for a popular app and find dozens of copies . These apps copy the name, icons and even screenshots. This is also being limited in the new rules that will come into force on September 30.

A good example is Google’s own translator. If you search for this app on Google Play, you will find dozens of results that try to trick you into installing an app that is not really from Google.

We do not know how permissive Google will be with the copies, so we will have to wait to find out if they disappear or are simply forced to change certain aspects. The objective, again, is to improve the user experience on Google Play and, of course, the attempts to cheat with certain apps.

These two norms will begin to be in force as of September 30 . At the moment we can say that they are very interesting, although in the past Google has also promised to eliminate things that were finally forgotten or were not restrictive enough.
