Have you pre-ordered the Steam Deck yet? With this app you can know when it will arrive

Como saber cuando llega tu Steam Deck tu lugar en la cola de reservas

Valve has finally been able to speed up production of its new handheld console, the Steam Deck, drastically reducing the waiting list to buy one. Thanks to this, many people have been encouraged to reserve their Steam Deck. Now, once you make the initial deposit to reserve the console, Steam does not tell you an exact date on which you will receive it, so the wait can become a bit desperate.

To ease your cravings, here’s a trick that will let you know when your Steam Deck will arrive based on your position in the pre-order queue . While it’s not possible to calculate the exact date you’ll receive the Steam Deck, there is an app that tells you how close you are to completing your purchase of the console and finally receiving it.

So you can know when your Steam Deck will arrive after you have reserved it

While this is a fairly obvious way to know when you’ll receive your handheld console from Valve, it’s necessary to make it clear for those who don’t know that you can check the quarter in which your Steam Deck will arrive on the official website where you pre-ordered it:

If you already knew this and want to see more exactly when your Steam Deck will arrive, then you have to check your position in the waiting list or reservation queue . Next, we explain in detail how to do it.

GetMyDeck, the best app to get an idea of when your Steam Deck will arrive

Previously, Valve allowed you to see how many Steam Decks are reserved and where you were in the pre-order queue. This is no longer possible, but the folks on the r/SteamDeck subreddit (more specifically user “Fammy”) created an app called GetMyDeck that works as a calculator for when your Steam Deck will arrive.

This calculator shows the progress Valve has been able to make in delivering Steam Decks based on your personal pre-order time and data shared by other users . It is not the most accurate way to know when you will receive your Steam, but it is the only way to find out based on real data and not forecasts without much support.

How to see your place in the Steam Deck pre-order queue

Follow these steps to use GetMyDeck to see when your deck will arrive:

  • First, click this link from the browser or device where you made the Steam Deck reservation ( you must be logged into Steam ).
  • A few lines of code will open. Note where it says ” rtReserveTime ” and copy the number next to it.
  • Now, go into GetMyDeck .
  • Where it says “In which region did you preorder your Steam Deck?” select the region in which you pre-ordered your Steam Deck . It can be US (United States), EU (Europe), UK (United Kingdom) and others will be added in the future.
  • Then, in “Which version did you reserve?” choose the version of the Steam Deck you pre-ordered . At the moment, there are only three options: 64 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB.
  • Finally, under “What is your reservation time” paste the number you copied in the first step of this tutorial.
  • Before you see the results, click on “Remember me” so you don’t have to repeat these steps the next time you want to know how long until your Steam Deck arrives.
  • Lastly, tap on the Get my preorder status button.
  • You will see several results and a graph that can be very confusing (because it is), but the important thing is that you pay attention to the last data of the results that says something like: You’re 70.89% of the way there! . You will see it with a different number, because this percentage is the one that indicates how close you are to receiving the mail to complete the purchase of the Steam Deck and receive it. If the percentage is close to 100%, you are very close to receiving it, and vice versa.

Of course, you must bear in mind that this data is not updated in real time. Every Monday and Thursday at 5 PM (GMT) you have to come back to GetMyDeck to see how they have changed . Thus, seeing each week how the percentage of how close you are to receiving your Steam Deck varies, you can calculate for yourself the estimated date on which you will receive it.

Unfortunately, the percentages don’t vary evenly due to the fact that Steam Deck production is not regular (because of the known global shortage of chips), so it is difficult to make precise estimates. At least with GetMyDeck, though, you’ll be able to track your progress in the Steam Deck pre-order queue to ease the itch of uncertainty.
