Google Play Store won't let you install old apps

You will not be able to download or install old apps from the Google Play Store on your Android device, an important decision by Google that puts thousands of apps on the ropes that have not been updated for a long time and that, however, are still available in the store.

The truth is that in Google Play there has been quite a lot of loosening with old apps that have not been able to adapt to the newest versions of Android and have continued to be available for download, but that definitively ends forever with this decision by Google.

Developers must comply with the new premise before November 2022, if when the time comes they have not adapted and renewed their applications, users will not be able to search for them through the search engine or download them to their devices.

Thus, all apps must have the latest privacy and security features required , otherwise Google Play will block them and they will no longer be accessible in the store to be searched and downloaded on any Android device.

Specifically, all those applications that are based on old versions of Android will be considered outdated , specifically on two versions of Android prior to the current one at any given time. However, right now nothing to worry about.

At least until November, everything will remain as it is now for users, not for developers because they will have a lot of work and will have to adapt their applications, so that if they do not meet the requirements for that month, they will no longer be downloadable.

Thus, Google Play Store wants to put a stop to old applications that have been abandoned for years so that they cannot be installed on Android devices, so the user will not run any security risk when using an old app since they will precisely be blocked.

Now it is difficult to know if any of the apps that you have installed on your Android mobile or tablet is too old, but when the time comes, there will probably be some type of application that reveals this information to us to know which of your apps are outdated.

In this way you could make a decision, or keep it on your device, or delete it and look for alternatives. If you have some, in the future you could continue installing them, but not for new users because the Google Play Store will hide those old apps and will not allow them to be installed .
