Google gets demanding: mobiles with 1 GB of RAM will not receive Android 13

Android 13 no llegara a los moviles con 1 GB de RAM

Android 13 has already been officially presented. At the moment, only Google Pixels are officially updating to this new version of the famous operating system. Meanwhile, OPPO and Xiaomi are also testing the stable beta of this update on some of their models.

Well, the jump to Android 13 is imminent for some terminals, but for others it seems that it will be impossible. Why? Well, because Google has updated the minimum RAM requirements to install its OS , leaving those phones with 1 GB of RAM without hope.

2 GB of RAM is the minimum requirement to update to Android 13

AsJason Bayton , an expert on the Android operating system, reports, Google has just revealed the new minimum requirements that a device must meet to run Android. Now, those of the great G require that the terminal have 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage , otherwise they will have to use another version of the OS.

It is important to mention that this requirement comes into force with the new version (Android 13) , so you can still find mobile phones with 1 GB of RAM that have Android 12. However, they will not have the possibility of updating to the thirteenth edition of the Google operating system.

Android 13 Go seems to be the alternative for phones with 1 GB of RAM… or maybe not

Until now, Android Go was the ideal OS for low-end phones. This light version required at least 512 MB of RAM in its first editions. As of Android 11 Go, those of the great G began to demand a little more and with Android 12 Go it was already recommended that manufacturers equip the mobile with at least 2 GB of RAM.

But now, with Android 13, it is no longer a recommendation but a mandatory requirement. This means that even the future Android 13 Go will not be able to run on mobiles with 1 GB of RAM either . And you… What do you think of this new measure taken by those from Mountain View?
