Until a couple of years ago, YouTube made a kind of annual summary video called REWIND and in which the main celebrities of the platform participated . If you did not know this special, here is the YouTube REWIND of 2019 that was the last one they did. The thing is, people hated these videos (they literally have dislike records) and YouTube had to cancel them.
This year we will not have YouTube REWIND, but there will be a special. It will be called ESCAPE2021 and it will be a live end-of-the-year event with which YouTube will seek to vindicate itself before its audience. You’ll make it? What is ESCAPE2021? This is YouTube’s New Year’s Eve special
Given the cancellation of YouTube REWIND 2021, the platform has announced the ESCAPE2021 special. What will this event be about? It will be a 24-hour live show in which musicians and youtubers will participate to review the trends and the most important videos of the platform in 2021 . Unlike REWIND, the event will be interactive as there will be trivia, challenges and other activities that will require the participation of the public.
ESCAPE2021 will even have a theme: free Lofi Girl from the confines of her room . If you are not aware, Lofi Girl is the cartoon of a girl that appears on this YouTube channel , who is always in a room with her cat listening to relaxing music. The channel itself works as a radio for those looking for background music to study, work, etc.
We don’t know exactly how the event will unfold, but YouTube has already told us that there will be live performances by Doja Cat, BTS, Mark Robber , among others.
When will ESCAPE2021 be seen and where?
ESCAPE2021 will be broadcast on YouTube through the platform’s official channel . The video you see above is the one from the event, so you don’t have to look for it. It says right there when it will start and at what time in your country, although you can also click the Set reminder button so that YouTube will notify you when it is about to start.
