In mid-2020, Apple shocked the world when it released the iPhone 12 without a charger included. This controversial decision in favor of the reduction of electronic waste was widely criticized by the rest of the mobile manufacturers. However, today more and more brands are joining this measure, such as Xiaomi and OPPO.

Well, Apple had already received a fine of 1.9 million dollars with the iPhone 12 series (the first to not include a charger) by the Brazilian government. But now things go further.

The local media G1 has reported that the Ministério da Justiça has not only approved a new fine for those from Cupertino, but has also prohibited the sale of iPhones without a charger ( series 12, 13 and probably the future series 14 ) in the territory. Brazilian.

To this prohibition is added a new multimillion-dollar fine that the brand will have to assume if it continues to sell its terminals without a charger in Brazil. It is nothing more and nothing less than 2.3 million dollars for each day that Apple fails to comply with said decree after its approval, since it will not have a retroactive effect.

How will Apple solve this? Well, probably the brand will be forced to include chargers in iPhones destined for the Brazilian market. At the moment, those from Cupertino have not commented on this news, but we will keep you informed in case any official statement related to this issue arises.
