Android mobile with Lightning port? This user has made it work

Some time ago we told you that a user had managed to include a USB C port on an iPhone. This port replaced Apple’s Lightning and was fully functional . Today we can tell you the opposite case, because the same person has managed to include a Lightning port in an Android mobile. It is a fairly complicated engineering work that has a study phase and another one of quite important modifications.

This is the first Samsung with Lightning port

The user has chosen a mid-range Samsung Galaxy A to carry out the modification. The video does not show the whole process, but it does show the most important parts. The change of port has gone through a phase of study, another of printing parts and another of welding. It all seems quite complicated.

It is something that you will hardly be able to replicate on your device, since quite advanced knowledge is needed in all the processes that are carried out. Even with an expert person the result is not perfect.

The port is functional and an iPhone cable can be used to charge the device, but it doesn’t go all the way in. What the user has done is to replicate, through 3D printing , the port of an iPhone.

It is something quite curious that does not improve the experience , but that allows us to see that with desire and knowledge our devices can undergo interesting modifications and remain functional. Which port do you prefer? Lightning or USB C ?
