The messaging application has published an entry on its blog talking about all these improvements and new features. They are all related to audio or voice notes and some of them are already available to many users.
If WhatsApp has now published this list, it means that so far there are many users who still do not have them available. Don’t worry, they will end up reaching your WhatsApp profile sooner rather than later. The company speaks of “coming weeks” for the general landing of all of them.
- Pause and resume recordings: You can now pause the recording of a voice memo and resume it later. This way you will not need to send several voice notes if you have to stop for some reason or think about what you are going to say. You will be able to congest everything you want to say in a single note.
- Playback outside the same chat: it will no longer be necessary to stay in the chat of the voice memo to be able to listen to it. You will be able to play it and go to other conversations while listening to the voice memo. At the top you can see a bar that tells you how much audio is left and with which you can also manage playback.
- Visualization of the audio in the form of waves: it has been a fairly well-known function for a few days and with limited usefulness. Audio will now look like waves depending on how it is recorded. We have tested this function and we did not find much sense beyond the aesthetic.
- Listen to the voice message before sending it: before sending a voice note, you can listen to it in its entirety . If you don’t like it, you can discard it.
- Resume an audio from where you left off: you can pause very long voice memos and then resume them at the exact place where you left off. Playback no longer restarts if you exit chat.
- 1x, 1.5x and 2x audio playback: the audio you receive can be played at different speeds so you can finish listening to it much faster.
All these improvements and new features will be available on Android phones with WhatsApp in the coming weeks. You may already have some available and others may take a while to arrive.
